James Kennedy allegedly “caused a scene” at Kathy Hilton’s holiday party on Tuesday night hours before he was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence.
A source told Us Weekly that the “Vanderpump Rules” alum drew attention at the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star’s bash with his “erratic” behavior.
“His guy friend was chasing him from Kathy’s basement all the way throughout Kathy’s backyard, and James looked mad while running away,” the insider said.
“The guy who was chasing him almost fell into the pool and dropped a lantern in the pool causing a huge scene. Everyone was wondering what was going on.”
The source further told the outlet that Kennedy was “in a mood” on the red carpet and “ran off to get inside the party” instead of doing interviews.
Page Six heard a similar account, with an eyewitness exclusively telling us that Kennedy “sped across the carpet like he was trying to avoid everyone. The vibes were weird.”
Nick Viall, who also attended Hilton’s party with his wife, Natalie Joy, also recalled his experience seeing Kennedy at the event during Thursday’s episode of his “Viall Files” podcast.
The “Bachelor” alum claimed the DJ was “barking orders” at one of his friend’s earlier in the night.
“Let’s say his friend’s name is Sam. And [James] goes, ‘Sam! Hold this! Now.’ … And his friend just grabbed the drink and James kept walking and I was like … ‘That was insane,’” Viall said.
“I’m the only one who saw this. Natalie didn’t even see this. … I was like, 10 minutes earlier I met this guy who he introduced as his best friend and then 10 minutes later he was barking orders.”
Reps for Kennedy did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Kennedy was arrested on Tuesday night after police in Burbank were called to a residence around 11:30 p.m. regarding an argument between a man and a woman.
He was later released on $20,000 bail.
The identity of the woman involved in the dispute remains has not been disclosed. However, Kennedy was seen at the party with his girlfriend of two years, Ally Lewber.
