Prince William focuses on climate change instead of his feud with Harry and Meghan. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams notes that William wants to inspire the next generation.
Prince William is not paying attention to his feud with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Instead, he is focusing on the climate change crisis, according to a report by The Mirror citing an expert.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been out of the royal family for years now. During these tumultuous years, they have also been critical of Prince William. However, according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, the Prince of Wales is focusing on ways he can “inspire” the next generation.
“As everyone knows, there is a rift in the royal family, but it is the Sussexes, not William, who are causing it,” the report quoted Fitzwilliams as saying. Prince William is trying to find solutions to environmental issues, he added.
“Harry and Meghan have spoken out about environmental issues and have not always practiced what they preach. However, it is clear that William is emphasizing the purpose of the Earthshot Prize, which is to find solutions to the environmental crisis,” Fitzwilliams said.
“He knew, although it’s rarely mentioned by those who speak out about climate change, that there was too much preaching on the subject. William realised that if people were constantly told what not to do, that they shouldn’t fly or eat less meat, then that kind of thing would turn people off,” the report quoted Fitzwilliams as saying to GB News.
The expert’s comments came as Prince William spoke about his future dreams in a speech at the Tusk Conservation Prize.
“I want my children to live in a world where swallows still migrate, gorillas still live in the cloud forests of Uganda and rhinos still roam the arid grasslands of Namibia,” said the Prince of Wales.
Prince William also paid tribute to the rangers who died while on duty.
“The solemn honour roll we saw earlier recognises the rangers who have sacrificed their lives and serves as a reminder of the price paid by so many on the frontline of conservation,” said the Prince of Wales.
