Prince William’s one Christmas present to Princess Kate that ‘didn’t go well’

Prince William and Princess Kate were all smiles this week as they spent Christmas at Sandringham on Wednesday alongside their three children and the rest of the Royal Family.

The couple, who have been married for 13 years, spent time talking to well wishers after attending the Christmas Day church service, with plenty of gifts being thrust at them from members of the public.

While Kate, 42, was laden with beautiful bouquets of flowers, some of her Christmas gifts over the years have been less desirable, including one gifted to her by William, 42, when they were dating.

This unusual gift, which reportedly did not “go well” when received by Kate, was revealed by Prince William when he appeared on former England striker Peter Crouch’s podcast on BBC Radio Five Live.

As reported by The Mirror, the prince and football striker were discussing some of the presents they had brought their partners over the years, with William confessing he had once given Kate a very unusual present.

The future King said: “I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once – she’s never let me forget that.

“That was early on in the courtship that was – I think that sealed the deal. It didn’t go well.

“Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars, it seemed like a good idea at the time.”

While it is not known what William gifted the Princess this year, it is clear the pair were in good spirits on Christmas Day as they stepped out with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

Princess Kate was handed plenty of flowers

The family-of-five spent the day at Sandringham on December 25 hosted by the King and Queen Camilla, however are believed to have stayed at their nearby home Amner Hall after the celebrations.

It is not known what the three children received for Christmas this year, however they were all smiles as members of the public handed them chocolates and teddy bears as they left a Christmas Day church service.

Princess Charlotte was also seen carrying roses gifted to her by well wishers.

The family are not expected to make any more public appearances over the festive period.
