As we bid farewell to 2024, it’s undeniable that it has been one of the most challenging years for Prince William and Kate Middleton in recent times. This was particularly due to the devastating news of both King Charles and Kate being diagnosed with cancer within a short span of each other.

Now, with Kate confirming the completion of her treatment, 2025 seems to herald a return to normalcy for the Royal family. One Royal expert even suggests that this might be the year when William and Kate “spoil” their children as a token of appreciation for their resilience during such a tumultuous period, reports the Mirror.

Royal author Ingrid Seward shared with Hello!: “Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit, because it’s very frightening for children when their parents are that ill, so I think they will be up for a few treats this year. I think William and Kate might take the children skiing during the Easter holidays and will probably be planning a big summer holiday, because as far as we know they didn’t go anywhere last year.”

The author, who has also written ‘Royal Children’ examining Royal offspring across generations, further commented: “Like many famous parents, they are cautious about exposing the children to too much scrutiny in this digital age. They know they must produce the children at certain times, but I think they very much keep them under wraps the rest of the time.”

Describing their lifestyle as “far more ordinary” than that of past royals, due to William and Kate’s hands-on approach to parenting without relying heavily on nannies and staff, Ingrid Seward noted how the children’s close ages help them bond well together, being “bound by the situation they’re in and they’re all in it together.”

While there has been no official statement regarding Princess Kate’s plans for 2025, her prominent presence at her Christmas Carol concert: Together at Christmas, suggests a promising future. After being diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer at the beginning of 2024, Princess Kate reduced her Royal engagements to concentrate on her treatment, resulting in a quieter public profile for several months.

Nevertheless, she maintained a presence at key events during the Summer, including Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon, signalling optimism for Royal enthusiasts.

The Princess of Wales marked a significant milestone with her carol concert appearance in December, her first major high-profile event since announcing the end of her treatment. This was closely followed by her participation in the annual Sandringham walk to church on Christmas Day, signalling a hopeful return to normality.
