Reason Prince William ‘adores’ Princess Kate’s parents so much

Prince William has known Princess Kate for almost 24 years, meaning he has now known her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, for almost the same time.

After meeting at St Andrews University in 2001, the future King and Queen of the UK are believed to have been friends until 2003, when they officially began dating.

From there, the relationship took a few twists and turns – including a short break-up – before the couple tied the knot in 2011.

While Princess Kate’s parents did not officially become William’s in-laws until the wedding day, the prince was very much a part of the Middleton family in the years prior. William reportedly spent a lot of time with Kate’s parents before popping the big question.

The bond formed between William and Kate’s parents during their early dating years remains strong today, with one royal expert and author believing this is due to one key reason.

Royal expert and author Ingrid Seward told HELLO!: “The Middletons are a traditional family, which is why William enjoyed being around them so much.”

Ingrid continued talking about how they enjoy family time together, including holidays, “William plays a huge part in all this because he just adores the Middletons.

“They give him the cosy family life that Diana always wanted him to have.”

In addition to William adoring them, Michael and Carole clearly reciprocate this love for their son-in-law.

After it was announced that William and Kate were engaged in 2010, Michael Middleton read out a statement on behalf of his daughter Princess Kate’s family.

He said at the time: “I would just like to say that Carole and I are absolutely delighted by today’s announcement and thrilled at the prospect of a wedding some time next year.

“As you know, Catherine and Prince William have been going out together for quite a number of years, which is great for us because we’ve got to know William really well.

“We all think he’s wonderful and we are extremely fond of him. They make a lovely couple; they’re great fun to be with, and we’ve had a lot of laughs together. We wish them every happiness for the future.”
