Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo was spotted dining at classic Brooklyn spot Junior’s on Sunday morning, as the pol weighs a run for mayor.
“Cuomo sure looked like he’s going to run for mayor — as he made the rounds shaking hands, taking photos and talking to customers after finishing a breakfast,” said a spy.
(We hear that Cuomo opted for a spinach, mushroom and cheddar omelet with a side of broccoli and a cappuccino.)
Another source told us that Cuomo was at the eatery “dining with a group of reverends and local officials,” and he “appeared relaxed … in a navy sport jacket with no tie” and was “laughing and joking with patrons.”
The insider added they then saw him “getting onto the subway.”
Ironically, the owner of Junior’s has even reportedly explored running for mayor!
Pals are certainly putting some gentle pressure on Cuomo to step up, we hear.
At a recent gathering, one close friend was holding forth on how the city needs strong leadership more than ever, and gestured to Cuomo with a wink, saying, “If only we knew somebody who could do it.”
But he didn’t take the bait.
