Ariana Grande barely held back tears as Drew Barrymore surprised her with a special prop from the original “Wizard of Oz” movie.
Grande — who plays Glinda in the prequel film, “Wicked” — recently stopped by “The Drew Barrymore Show” for a pre-taped appearance set to air Thursday.
“I have something that’s extremely exciting and special. It was owned by the Smithsonian,” Barrymore, 49, shares with her eager guest in a preview of the interview, which prompts Grande’s eyes to bulge as she demands to know, “What are you talking about?”
The host goes on, “And now it’s owned in private hands, but for the purposes of our sit-down, they loaned it to us.”
After Grande, 31, lets out a gasp, Barrymore looks around to her crew and asks, “Um, bring out the original Glinda wand, please?”
Immediately, the pop star’s hand goes up to cover her mouth as she stares intently in the direction from where the wand-yielding employee is coming.
As Barrymore’s staffer hands the surprisingly long silver wand — topped with a rhinestoned star — to an emotional Grande, the actress shouts, “Thank you, Angel!
Eyes still wide — and seemingly a little misty — the “Thank U, Next” singer carefully takes the famous item and mouths to the man, “Thank you so much.”
She once again puts her hand up to her mouth as the audience erupts in applause.
“Are you serious right now?” she asks Barrymore, who smiles as she nods while holding her clasped hands up to her chin.
Grande — who is wearing a pink strapless corset-style A-line dress — then stands up and pretends to walk off the set, saying, “Thank you, guys! It’s been fun! Bye!”
She quickly turns back around and repeatedly insists, “I’m kidding!” before resuming her spot on the couch next to the “Charlie’s Angels” star.
