Donald Trump wins 2024 presidential election: Christina Applegate, Andy Cohen and more celebs react to Kamala Harris’ loss

Former President Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election against Vice President Kamala Harris in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Since then, a slew of celebrities have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the highly anticipated outcome.

“Please unfollow me if you voted against female right,” Christina Applegate wrote via X on Wednesday morning.

“Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done. Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick.”

Meanwhile, “One Tree Hill” actress Sophia Bush denounced the “MAGA gang” by posting a link that showed the former MAGA evangelical get-out-the-vote nonprofit president, Jason Yates, being arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

“Great job giving the MAGA gang more power, America,” Bush wrote via X. “Wonder how many folks are seeing this and STILL saying ‘But but but at least he’s not a Black woman!’ in the privacy of their homes tonight. My heart is broken .”

Cardi B also had a strong reaction to Harris’ loss after publicly endorsing her at a rally in Milwaukee, Wis., last week.

“I hate y’all bad,” she said to those voters who specifically voted for Trump in battleground state Georgia.

The “I Like It” rapper also shared her reactions to the results before Trump got ahead and admitted that she was “really sad.”

“No matter what, I know that [Harris is] probably emotional right now,” she said via Instagram Live. “I know there’s probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she’s not listening to this, but she will eventually see it. I just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of color are proud of her.”

Andy Cohen called out Republicans –– including Trump –– who claimed Trump’s loss in 2020 to President Joe Biden was “rigged,” by asking his X followers, “so the election ISN’T rigged????”

The Bravo personality later clarified his remarks by sharing a sweet video with his son and telling him, “We love our country, yes we do. We will persist, we will move forward.”

Lili Reinhart took to social media to focus on Trump’s past allegations –– including at least 26 women publicly accusing the soon-to-be president of some form of sexual assault.

“I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump,” she wrote on X. “Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”

Bette Midler shared her thoughts by quoting a passage from American journalist, Henry Louis Mencken, that read in part, “When a candidate for public office faces the voters he does not face men of sense; he faces a mob of men whose chief distinguishing mark is the fact that they are quite incapable of weighing ideas, or even of comprehending any save the most elemental.”

The journalist continued writing that the man who becomes president is often “the most devious and mediocre.”

Meanwhile, “High Fidelity” actor John Cusack put his view more bluntly by writing via X, “the fact that the country would choose to destroy itself by voting in a convicted felon rapist and Nazi is a sign of deep nihilism To put it mildly.”

“Glee” actor Kevin McHale reflected on the likelihood of Trump getting to appoint more conservative Supreme Court Justices during his term and wrote, “Supreme Court gone for the rest of my lifetime. Ultra-conservative evangelical bigotry, xenophobia, racism is the mandate.”

Former “Community” actress Yvette Nicole Brown also spoke out on the “disgrace” of her native state of Ohio electing first-time candidate Bernie Moreno to the U.S. Senate over the Democratic incumbent since 2007, Sherrod Brown.

“This is a disgrace at a level I can’t even quantify,” she posted on X. “My home state of Ohio chose a criminal. And it looks like this nation is choosing a criminal. AmeriKKKa is showing out tonight. Just showing out.”

Author Stephen King added in a social media post, “There’s a sign you can see in many shops that sell beautiful but fragile items: LOVELY TO LOOK AT, DELIGHTFUL TO HOLD, BUT ONCE YOU BREAK IT, THEN IT’S SOLD. You can say the same about democracy.”

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy went on a “rant” about his “knee jerk reactions” to Trump “demolishing” Harris in a lengthy Instagram post shared late Tuesday night.

“People like myself, independents or moderates, the democrats gave us no choice,” he said. “The democrats gave us no choice. That was the worst campaign and their pure arrogance and moral superiority have driven people away. If you say you’re voting for Trump, suddenly you’re a Nazi, you’re Hitler, you’re garbage. Enough, enough!”

Portnoy went on to slam Harris and her party for “alienating all these middle ground people by acting like you’re better” than other people and “frankly insulting our intelligence.”

Selena Gomez also reacted to the election results via her Instagram Story, writing, “My heart is heavy.”

The “Lose You to Love Me” songstress also included a quote that read, “I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own.”

Rapper 50 Cent, who went back and forth on his support for Trump, congratulated Trump on his win by posting two photos of them together.

“I don’t care how the fight goes, I’m leaving with the winner s–t. I still don’t know what’s going on 🤦congratulations!” he wrote Wednesday.

Several celebrities –– including Taylor Swift, Dick Van Dyke and Beyoncé –– all publicly endorsed Harris, but many of them have not commented on the loss.
