Novak Djokovic is the most successful and highest-earning tennis player in the history of the sport.
The Serbian’s astonishing 23 Grand Slam titles, including seven Wimbledon crowns, have netted him around £130m in prize money over the past 20 years.
He has won the last four Wimbledon titles and victory over Carlos Alcaraz on Sunday will secure him another £2.35m on top.
Of course, it’s not just winning tournaments that makes money for someone like Djokovic, the 36-year-old has a raft of sponsorship deals that bring in millions.
Tennis 365 reports that his sponsors include Asics, Head, Hublot, Lacoste, Lemero, NetJets, Peugeot, Raiffeisen Bank International and Ultimate Software Group.
Such deals have made tens of millions, putting his estimated total net worth at £178.8m, according to The Independent.
Who is Novak Djokovic’s wife? Djokovic is married to Jelena, 37, a Serbian humanitarian and businesswoman.
She previously studied luxury brand management at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and is now the global CEO of the Novak Djokovic Foundation (NDF), a charity she co-founded with her husband that strives to achieve equal access to early childhood education.
The couple currently have two children, Stefan, 8, and Tara, 5.
They were married in Montenegro on 10 July 2014 on the grounds of Aman Sveti Stefan Resort at a five-star hotel resort.
Who is Novak Djokovic’s coach? Tennis fans will recognise a familiar face in Djokovic’s box on centre court.
He has been coached by former Wimbledon favourite Goran Ivanišević since 2019. He has won every Wimbledon title since.
Croatian Ivanišević, of course, won Wimbledon in 2001 as a wildcard. He believes Djokovic is the greatest tennis player in history.
He said: “He is one of the best athletes, and I’m not just talking about tennis, but one of the best athletes in the world. He’s still going and what he did for tennis and for sport is amazing. I think people appreciate it, but I think they will appreciate more when he stops playing tennis.
“For me Novak is the greatest for me in everything, by results. Roger maybe played the most attractive tennis. But they all helped each other to become better players. First Roger, then Rafa and Novak came, the rivalry between these three guys was amazing. They made tennis a better sport and they all love tennis. But you have to choose somebody, some people prefer Roger or Nadal… for me, it’s Novak.”
