“She wants to support her husband and the monarchy,” but will make sure her kids aren’t neglected.
It’s no secret that Kate Middleton, who battle cancer last year, has a lot on her plate—from her health and the pressures of being the future queen of England to her family and children. While becoming a monarch is a job that she fully intends to take seriously, the Princess of Wales is making it a point from now on to ensure that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are a priority and are well attended to in light of her future responsibilities.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward spoke with Hello! and explained that Middleton has been thinking of her queen duties as of late. “Kate knows there is a looming, massive responsibility coming, but she can’t do anything about that, so she just needs to make sure that the family she’s bringing up are able to deal with it,” she explained.
Part of Middleton’s desire to pour into her kids stems from her cancer diagnosis, which has likely made it difficult for her to give the amount of energy that she wants into her family. “It must have been very difficult for her to deal with her family and her illness at the same time,” Seward continued. “She obviously realizes that the children have been through a hard time too.”
Over the past year, the Princess of Wales’s “illness has made her keen to prioritize her family even more, because they are the future,” Seward added. “Obviously, she wants to support her husband and the monarchy, but she’s going to make sure that she does it in such a way that it doesn’t take her away from the family too much.”
Giving George, Charlotte, and Louis more of her energy isn’t the only thing that’s on Middleton’s plans for the family in the coming months—Seward previously revealed that there’s a chance she and Prince William might “spoil” them with a few fun trips this year.
“I think William and Kate might take the children skiing during the Easter holidays and will probably be planning a big summer holiday, because as far as we know they didn’t go anywhere last year,” Seward told Hello!. “Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit, because it’s very frightening for children when their parents are that ill, so I think they will be up for a few treats this year.”
