Prince William’s youngest son, Prince Louis, has taken up drumming.
Prince William has revealed his youngest son, Prince Louis, is learning to play the drums.
The 42-year-old prince – who also has Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, nine, with his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales – joked that he spends “his whole life sticking his fingers in his ears” thanks to his six-year-old son’s noisy new hobby.
Speaking at the Tusk Conservation Awards at The Savoy in London on Wednesday (27.11.24), he joked: “My youngest is learning the drums, which is why I spend my whole life covering my ears.”
The awards ceremony honoring those working to preserve African heritage was attended by rock legends such as Rolling Stone’s Ronnie Wood and Dire Straits star Mark Knopfler.
The Earthshot Prize founder – who, like his late grandfather, Prince Philip, and father, King Charles, is a passionate environmentalist – also spoke about his offspring at the star-studded party: “I want my children to live in a world where swallows still migrate, gorillas still live in the cloud forests of Uganda and rhinos still roam the dry grasslands of Namibia.”
William has revealed his youngest son’s new musical interests after recently revealing George had taken up scuba diving.
Speaking at a public meeting last month, where he met Olympic swimmers Adam Peaty and Tom Dean, he said: “George loves scuba diving. He’s 11. We took him in the water because we thought he would freak out. He absolutely loved it. It was just a way of introducing him to the underwater world.”
In 2022, William and his wife went scuba diving during a royal cruise to the Caribbean at South Water Caye to see the Belize Barrier Reef.
At the time, William said: “It was amazing to see the underwater environment in Belize and see what a wonderful job they have done to protect the coral and fish life!”
The Prince and Princess of Wales are also water lovers, with William playing water polo for Eton College and the University of St. Andrews, and Catherine enjoying cold water swimming.
Speaking on the podcast ‘The Good, The Bad and The Rugby’ in 2023, she explained to William’s cousin Mike Tindall: “The colder the better. I really like it. To the point where William said, ‘Catherine,
