Inside Paris’ lavish ‘nepo baby’ debutante ball where Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, made her debut

Nepo babies take Paris.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple, made her debut at Les Bal des Débutantes on Saturday — and she’s certainly not the first A-list offspring to do so.

The 20-year-old wore a blue strapless Valentino gown to the star-studded event over the weekend.

The dress, which took 750 hours to make, featured a black bow over many layers of silk plissé chiffon, according to Vogue.

Not only did Apple’s divorced parents show up to support her, but the Vanderbilt University student’s grandma, Blythe Danner, and brother Moses, 18, were also in attendance.

Page Six is breaking down the sophisticated, invite-only event below, along with its previous A-list debuts.

What is Les Bal des Débutantes?

When the event kicked off in 1958, it was held at the Palace of Versailles to introduce 20 to 25 women to society.

It has been held annually since picking back up in 1992.

The females, who are between the ages of 16 and 22 and hand-picked from many countries, go through months of fittings before stepping out in their couture gowns — which is why TikTok star Lara Cosima von Donnersmarck referred to the debutante ball as the “Met Gala for teenagers” (per Vogue).

Apple wasn’t the only big name at the ball, with Italian actress Sophia Loren’s granddaughter Lucia Sofia Ponti attending in Armani. Vogue contributor Miranda Brooks and architect Bastien Halard’s daughter Apollonie “Poppy” Hallard was also honored, rocking a Schiaparelli gown.

Additionally, “And Just Like That” star Nicole Ari Parker’s daughter, Sophie Kodjoe, attended and shared her hopes to “honor the tradition of being a debutante” with Vogue.

“I think its history is rooted in sending young women off to the world to be married, but in this case, it showcases how individual all of the women participating are and how diverse and creative everyone is,” she explained to the outlet.

“I think it’s a great opportunity to meet new people from all over the world and I’m just really honored to be a part of that,” Kodjoe concluded.

Other attendees included HRH Princess Eugenia de Borbon Vargas, Ella Yam, Peyton Spaht, Rysa Panday, Sofia Yadigaroglu, Countess Alienor Loppin de Montmort, Oona Finch, Isabel Quirot de Poligny, Cornelia Manou, Sienna Galliennem and Mina Muniz Tschape.

The event took place at the Hotel Shangri-La and began with an opening dance before debutantes went on to waltz with their dads and their cavaliers.

Apple’s partner, notably, was aristocrat Leo Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Before the dancing and socializing continued, the Les Bal des Débutantes honorees showed off their chosen dresses.

All proceeds from this year’s event went to the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in the US and the cardiology research unit at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital.

“Emily in Paris” star Lily Collins made her debut in 2007, followed by Bruce Willis’ daughter Scout the following year and her sister Tallulah in 2011.

In 2013, it was “Maid” actress Margaret Qualley’s turn.

Reese Witherspoon and Deacon Phillippe’s daughter, Ava, had the honor in 2017, the same year as Steve Harvey’s daughter Lori.
