James Kennedy has broken his silence following his arrest for domestic violence.
“I am committed to making meaningful changes in my life,” the “Vanderpump Rules” alum wrote in a statement shared via his Instagram Story Tuesday.
“I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones.”
He added, “Navigating challenging moments is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow, and move forward with the incredible support system around me.”
Last Tuesday night, police in Burbank, Calif., were dispatched to a residence for an argument between Kennedy, 32, and his girlfriend, Ally Lewber.
According to TMZ, an eyewitness told officers they saw the DJ — who has a history of substance abuse — grab Lewber, 28, during the dispute.
The outlet went on to cite the arrest log, which claimed that Kennedy also lifted the astrologer up and threw her on the ground.
Cops reportedly did not observe any injuries on her.
Kennedy was booked for misdemeanor domestic battery and released after posting the $20,000 bail.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” his lawyers told Page Six in a statement.
“We understand that there were no injuries, and we are hoping that after careful review, the city attorney’s office will decide not to file formal charges.”
Hours before Kennedy’s arrest, he and Lewber had attended Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party at her Bel-Air mansion, where he reportedly “caused a scene” with his “erratic” behavior.
A source told Us Weekly that the UK native was “in a mood” on the red carpet ahead of the soirée and “ran off to get inside the party” instead of stopping for interviews.
Page Six heard a similar account, with a witness noting that Kennedy “sped across the carpet like he was trying to avoid everyone. The vibes were weird.”
Meanwhile, an insider told us that Lewber — who was all smiles at an event just one day later — “has been telling friends she’s doing OK. She’s definitely safe and not in danger with James.”
She then took to her Instagram Story to thank “everyone who has reached out with love and support and for checking in on” her, insisting, “I’m OK and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy during this time.”
