Jason Kelce just had a fun shout-out to Taylor Swift — and her favorite song — on the latest episode of “New Heights.”

While Jason knew the number 87 was a direct reference to Travis’ jersey number on the Kansas City Chiefs, the former Eagles player couldn’t help but tease his younger brother.
“Probably because it’s my favorite number, right?” Jason joked, while Travis, 35, halfheartedly agreed before pointing out that “Friday the 13th was a few weeks ago”, which would have been Swift’s 35th birthday .
“Yeah, I was 13 at the time and playing hockey,” Jason explained.
While Jason previously represented No. 13 during his younger sports days, Swifties know all too well that 13 holds a special place in Swift’s heart. In addition to being her birthday, it’s also been the pop star’s lucky number for years and has been featured as an Easter egg on multiple occasions.
Since Travis and Swift began dating in the summer of 2023, both Jason and the Kansas City Chiefs linebacker have made not-so-subtle references to Swift and her lucky number on their podcasts. The first time they mentioned the number 13 was when Travis and Jason traveled to London in June—the same time Swift performed at Wembley Stadium —and recorded an episode from a bar that looked like Philadelphia. During the broadcast, the brothers enjoyed a beer served by a barman wearing a uniform with the number 13 on it—which Travis immediately recognized.
“Jessi, is your lucky number 13?” he asked and she confirmed.
Travis noted that he also “knows someone” who has the same lucky number. Jason added that 13 used to be his favorite number as well, and he wore it when he played hockey as a kid.
“13 plus 87, I’m just saying, it’s fine,” Travis teased before raising his glass to his brother.
In addition to Travis paying homage to his girlfriend’s favorite phone number, she ‘s also worn No. 87 — especially at Chiefs games. Swift has donned jewelry, Santa hats, and even a Kristin Juszczyk -designed puffer jacket with Travis’s number on it.
