Jay-Z has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl along with Sean “Diddy” Combs at a MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000.
The music mogul and entrepreneur — born Shawn Carter — was named in a civil lawsuit that was re-filed on Sunday, NBC News reports.
The original rape complaint, which had been filed by an anonymous accuser in October, initially only listed Combs as a defendant.
In the lawsuit, the accuser — identified as Jane Doe — claims both Jay-Z and Combs raped her when she was 13 at a house party in New York on Sept. 7, 2000.
In a lengthy statement obtained by Page Six, Jay-Z vehemently denied the “heinous” allegations and slammed “deplorable” lawyer Tony Buzbee
“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” he wrote.
“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?
“These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
Page Six also reached out to Combs’ rep for comment.
