It’s back to normal for the royal family as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis gear up to return to school following a lively Christmas holiday.

Prince George, who is approaching his final years at his current school, has reportedly already completed his entrance exams for his next school. The move marks a huge change for the 11-year-old and his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton.

George will remain in his current school until he turns 13, after which he’ll step into a new educational phase. While the chosen school for George’s next chapter isn’t public knowledge, royal expert Jennie Bond has suggested where he might go next.

She said it’s “a big year for George” before adding, “I imagine the decision about where he goes next has been pretty much sealed by now. I might take a punt on Wellington College.”

Speaking to OK! magazine, Bond added, “It’s only half an hour from Windsor; the pupils can board (full-time or weekly) or be day students. And..a huge plus….it’s co-educational, which means all three could go there in the future. Sounds ideal to me!”

Presently, the three siblings are enrolled at Lambrook School – a preparatory institution that educates children from the age of three through to 13. Before this, George attended Thomas’ Battersea in London and Willcocks Nursery School.

Bond weighed in on the young royals’ experience, asserting, “I always thought it was a wise decision to keep the children together during their early school years…and I think that has very much proved to be the case, especially during this past difficult year.”

She added, “It must have been a huge comfort for the three of them to be together at school when life at home was so full of anxiety (however much William and Catherine tried to shield them). And it seems the school has protected them well and has been admirably discreet about what’s been happening. The children deserve that protection at this unnerving time for them.”

In a highly personal disclosure last March, Princess Kate shared that she was undergoing chemotherapy after a cancer diagnosis that followed routine abdominal surgery. In September, there was cause for celebration as Kate announced her successful completion of treatment.

Kate shared the news in a video, saying, “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life, as you know, can change in an instant, and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and unknown road.”

She added, “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you… This time has, above all, reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus.”
