Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, had quite a difficult 2024. Indeed, she spent much of the year battling cancer and receiving chemotherapy treatments. In September, Kate finally revealed that she is now “cancer-free.”
Now that 2025 is officially here, Kate is putting all that behind her. Insiders are claiming that Kate has one big goal for the new year. The nature of it may come as a surprise to some.
Kate’s ‘Mission’
Kate, 42, is reportedly “on a mission” to reunite Prince Harry, 40, and King Charles, 76. Harry has been estranged from his father ever since he and his wife Meghan Markle, 43, stepped down as senior royals and moved across the world to Southern California in 2020.
“Kate wants the family to reconcile,” a source told Life & Style. “With the king’s health continuing to decline, there’s only so much time for that to happen. Kate is on a mission to bring Harry home.”
“The main objective of her plan is for Harry to return to Britain and make amends with Charles,” the insider added.
After battling cancer, Kate understandably has a “new perspective on everything.” Her cancer fight has left her being done “waiting around for things to happen” after realizing life is “too precious.”
Further, it should be assumed, that Kate views family cohesion as important, considering her husband William will assume the throne.
William Disagrees
Kate may be eager to reunite Harry and Charles, but her 42 year-old husband William, however, apparently doesn’t share her feelings on this. Last month, royal commentator Katie Nicholl claimed that William is still very angry at Harry.
“Kate’s been thrown under the bus by Harry, he’s said hurtful things about her, he’s brought the children into the narrative. I think the Prince of Wales remains very, very angry and upset and feels very betrayed,” Nicholl told The Sun. “Possibly the Princess of Wales is still open to a reconciliation in some form. I still feel it’s quite early.”
“But I do think when you go through something like a cancer diagnosis and you go through the sort of journey that she has done, and you confront your own mortality, you realize life is short,” Nicholl continued. She added that life is “far too short for rifts and family feuds.”
Kate Is A ‘Role Model’
Nicholl went on to say that Kate is widely regarded as a “role model.”
“I think she’s also someone who’s always led by example, in that sort of way of being a role model,” the royal expert added. “And perhaps that will be a role that she will play at some point in healing that rift, because I think we look to the royal family as a symbol of unity.”
As we just covered, over Christmas, a nurse with the NHS said as much to Kate.
It’s not surprising that battling cancer has changed Kate’s perspective on life. While it would be nice to see the royal family reconcile, Harry has done quite a lot of damage to them over the past few years. Only time will tell if Kate’s dreams of a royal reconciliation ever come true!
