The Pride and Prejudice star looked straight out of a couture fairytale as she glided into the 82nd Golden Globe Awards tonight.
A Chanel darling through and through, she wore a black slip dress courtesy of the French fashion house. While the timeless gown appears simple at first, it’s worth a closer look, as it becomes more and more interesting with every detail. Up top, the spaghetti-strap piece was covered in swirled silver sequins. This was broken up by a silky bow, which featured a teeny tiny rosette in the very middle.
Underneath, a silky ribbon acted as a high belt, followed by a party of black feathers. The rest of the skirt was smooth and simple, with a slight sheen.
Knightley’s caramel hair was styled in a chic bob, and she wore a black manicure and some diamond rings.
The dress was striking against the deep red carpet at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, where Knightley was joined by fellow television and film stars. This time around, the actor was not joined on the carpet by her husband, James Righton, though surely he supported her proudly from afar.
Knightley is nominated tonight in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series—Drama category for her performance in Black Doves, a spy thriller in which her character, Helen, “embarks on a passionate affair with a man who has no idea what her secret identity is,” per IMDb.
