Kevin Federline was left in the dark about his ex-wife Britney Spears’ reunion with their 18-year-old son, Jayden James Federline.
“If there has been a reconciliation, it’s news to Kevin,” the former dancer’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told TMZ on Monday.
According to Kaplan, Kevin speaks to his youngest son often and the teen has not mentioned reconnecting with the “Toxic” songstress.
Earlier in the day, Page Six exclusively revealed Spears, 42, had reunited with Jayden after years of being estranged.
One source told us the two “have been spending a lot of time together.”
Another insider said Jayden is now “back in California” after relocating to Hawaii with Kevin, 46, and his 19-year-old brother, Sean Preston Federline, in August 2023.
However, it’s unclear whether Spears and Jayden have been spending time at the pop star’s ritzy $7.4 million home in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
“Britney is thrilled to have her baby back,” the second insider added to Page Six. “Everything is moving in the right direction.”
Preston, meanwhile, still lives in Hawaii with Kevin and stepmom Victoria Prince.
Spears’ relationship with Jayden has seemingly been on the mend for months after he and Preston called the Grammy winner on Mother’s Day in May.
“Obviously a reconciliation/reunification is somewhat complex and can be a process that takes some time,” Kaplan told Page Six in June, explaining that Kevin “supports the boys having a relationship with their mother.”
Spears and Kevin were married from 2004 to 2007.
Prior to that, the “Gimme More” hitmaker and her sons — who had feared for her mental well-being — were estranged for some time.
Speaking about their broken relationship, Jayden told the UK’s ITV in 2022, “I 100 percent think this can be fixed. It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort.”
“I just want her to get better mentally,” he continued. “When she gets better, I really want to see her again.”
Jayden also told the outlet he and Preston had issues with their mom’s risqué social media presence.
