Meghan Markle has sent fans into a frenzy with the release of the first glamorous trailer for her highly-anticipated Netflix series. The Duchess of Sussex, who made a return to Instagram on New Year’s Day, unveiled the first promotional clip for her upcoming show, With Love, Meghan, set to debut on the streaming service later this month.
The eight-part series will see Meghan welcoming friends and celebrity guests to a Californian estate, where she imparts wisdom on cooking, gardening and hosting. Since the trailer’s release, fans have been dissecting every detail, even spotting a brief appearance from Prince Harry, looking comfortable alongside his wife.
However, another aspect of the trailer has sparked conversation among fans, as they believe they’ve identified a connection to the Princess of Wales in the promo. In one segment of the minute-and-a-half teaser, Meghan is seen donning protective gear and approaching a beehive to gather honey.
Fans were quick to point out that Kate is also known for her love of beekeeping, having previously shared a photo on her official social media accounts of herself in protective clothing tending to a beehive. This occurred in May 2023, as the princess commemorated World Bee Day.
It’s thought that Kate and Prince William maintain bees at their Anmer Hall property on the Sandringham estate, a hobby that Kate reportedly shares with her younger brother James, reports the Mirror.
After fans spotted a connection, one commented on platform X: “You know who keeps bees? And has for years? Princess Catherine. She has bees at their Norfolk home and makes her own honey.”
Meanwhile, another remarked: “We spotted a beekeeper and honey on the trailer… remember King Charles and Princess Catherine are hobbyist beekeepers.”
The arrival of the ‘With Love, Meghan’ trailer piques interest as the promotional material for the series describes: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old.”
It adds: “Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
Celebrities such as Mindy Kaling, former ‘Suits’ co-star Abigail Spencer, and culinary experts Roy Choi and Alice Waters feature in the 33-minute episodes. The series is a production under Archewell Productions, Harry and Meghan’s venture, with the Duchess also credited as an executive producer.
The Sussexes have secured a multimillion-pound contract with Netflix and have previously served as executive producers for the documentary ‘Polo’, which debuted on the service in December.
The documentary marked the Sussexes’ first since Heart Of Invictus, which aired 16 months prior and chronicled the journey of a group of service members on their path to the Invictus Games. This Paralympic-style sporting competition was established by Harry in 2014 for injured and sick military personnel and veterans.
It followed Live To Lead, a 2022 release about leaders committed to social justice, and preceded the couple’s contentious six-part Harry and Meghan documentary.
