The Prince of Wales has held a private meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in London, it has emerged.
The secret official engagement, which had no media present, took place at the Government’s headquarters in the capital’s Whitehall on Thursday. It was recorded in the court circular, the official log of royal engagements.
As a senior member of the Royal Family, William, who is the future head of the Armed Forces, is affiliated to a number of military regiments from all three branches of the military, including as Royal Colonel of the Welsh Guards.
The first in line to the throne carries out his own charitable projects but also undertakes official duties in support of his father, King Charles, who is still undergoing treatment for cancer.
William had a busy week full of engagements. On Monday, he met privately with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Kensington Palace. It is a convention that the heir to the throne meets the Prime Minister annually.
Later that day, he joined his wife, the Princess of Wales, for a special ceremony to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day.
On Tuesday, he was out solo in Hereford to visit Lower Blakemere Farm – a multigenerational farm that has refined regenerative farming practices and farm diversification as part of its journey to net zero.
On Wednesday, the dad-of-three visited NatureMetrics, an Earthshot Prize finalist based in Guildford, to learn about its work.
Later in the day, he visited Birmingham to cheer on his beloved Aston Villa during a UEFA Champions League match against Celtic FC.
As William focused on his engagement in London on Thursday, Princess Kate was on a solo visit to South Wales, meeting youngsters at the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice.
Kate, who confirmed earlier this month she is in remission from cancer, has become patron of the hospice as she continues her gradual return to public duties.
She also visited Welsh knitwear and sock manufacturer Corgi in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, to shine a light on British industry.
