Prince William & Kate Middleton’s Social Media Rules for Their Children Shows True Parenting Style

Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, and Prince William have three children who are growing up so fast. And with raising kids in this generation, you gotta keep in mind plenty of things, including how to navigate social media with them. Even if you’re a royal, you gotta think about that, and apparently, Kate and William are very strict with social media.

Insiders recently said to Life and Style Magazine that Kate and William shield Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in many ways when it comes to the internet, from limiting screen time to banning them from certain activities on social media.

“They’d love to be able to totally shield them from social media, but the older they get, the harder that is. So instead, they’ve decided on a lot of rules,” the insider said to the outlet. “First thing is they aren’t allowed to have their own accounts. They have shared family accounts that they are all logged into that are strictly for viewing content.”

Along with that, they are “totally banned from posting and only follow accounts that have been approved by mom and dad.” George keeps up with sports, and Charlotte looks at kids’ cooking shows, gymnastic accounts, and sporty accounts as well. “Plus, they have their favorite kids YouTube stars. It’s all very innocent and not anything that can be toxic for them.”

The insider also added that the kids only get “30 minutes a day” of social media, saying, “Screen time in general is very limited for them. They have their shows they like to watch but they’re encouraged to do other things like playing outside and reading. William and Kate know they can’t protect them forever but they’re very keen to teach them healthy habits and keep them safe for as long as they can.”

For those who don’t know, Kate and William met back in the early 2000s, and later married in April 2011. They share three children together named George, born in July 2013, Charlotte, born in May 2015, and Louis, born in April 2018.
