“I think that sealed the deal. It didn’t go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars. It seemed like a good idea at the time,” he continued.

Prince William and Princess Catherine met in 2001 at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and they tied the knot in a stunning ceremony at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Since then, they’ve expanded their family with three kids—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

This isn’t the first time Prince William has confessed to his questionable gift choice. Back in 2020, during an episode of the Peter Crouch Podcast, he shared the same story.

“I wrapped them. They were really nice,” he recalled. “I even tried convincing myself by saying, ‘These are amazing! Look how far you can see!’ And she’s looking at me going, ‘But they’re binoculars. What’s going on?’”

Safe to say, William’s binoculars didn’t make it to the top of Kate’s gift list. But hey, it’s the thought that counts, right? Surely, he’s learned a thing or two about gift-giving since then.
