If 2024 taught us anything, it is that Taylor Swift is currently a global powerhouse, and not just when it comes to music. She has carved out a league of her own and made a huge impact not only in the US but around the world. However, just as 2025 rolled in, it seems Swift is facing a bit of a dry spell, with back-to-back snubs from major music lists. The songstress was recently left off a coveted list of top female pop stars.
Meanwhile, her peers, like Ariana Grande, Cardi B, and several other songstresses, landed spots in the top 10.
Taylor Swift left out of major chart for female US singers
Chart Data recently shared a list of the top 10 most-streamed lead female songs in US history. And, unfortunately, none of Taylor Swift’s songs made the cut. Mariah Carey took the top spot with her Christmas classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You,’ followed by hits like Billie Eilish’s ‘bad guy,’ Halsey’s ‘Without Me,’ Ariana Grande’s ‘7 Rings,’ and more. Cardi B was the only rapper on the list with her tracks ‘Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)’ and ‘I Like It.’
There was a ‘Shake It Off’ on the list, though, but it was not Swift’s—it was Mariah Carey’s 2005 track. This was not the first snub for the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer in recent times. In the last week of 2024, the Eras Tour star failed to hit the 100 million monthly listener mark on Spotify, falling behind six other artists, including Ariana Grande (again). Still, fans do not seem to be sweating the snub too much.
Instead, they are celebrating the achievements of two specific artists who made it to the list.
Fans overlook Taylor Swift’s snub to celebrate other artists
Mariah Carey was at the peak of her career in the 90s and early 2000s, but her legendary status and record-breaking hits still hold strong in people’s hearts. As Carey won the top spot in the latest ranking, fans celebrated the 90s pop icon, holding her own alongside younger stars.
Meanwhile, some fans appreciated how Cardi B was the only female rapper on the list, which is an accomplishment in itself.
While a few Swifties called out Chart Data for the snub, most seemed to be on board with the ranking. But with the new year kicking off and Taylor Swift reportedly working on some exciting new releases, the pop star could reclaim her spot at the top of charts at any moment now.
