Tom Hanks’ cliffside LA home narrowly avoids wildfire, stunning photos show

Tom Hanks’ Pacific Palisades home is miraculously still standing.

The $26 million home, which was purchased by the “Forrest Gump” star and his wife, Rita Wilson, in 2010, narrowly avoided the flames from the ongoing Los Angeles wildfire, as seen in photos obtained by Page Six Thursday.

While Hanks’ four-bedroom, five-bathroom house appears untouched, the massive cliffside mansion just above his was destroyed by the blaze.

Tom and Wilson’s son Chet Hanks spoke out about the devastating Palisades Fire on Instagram, saying, “The neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground rn. Pray for the Palisades.”

While Tom and Wilson, both 68, purchased their current property when Chet was an adult, they previously owned a Spanish-style villa — built in 1929 — in the Pacific Palisades.

The couple bought the property as newlyweds and sold it in 2014 for $5 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The “Cast Away” actor also bought a 1,800-square-foot beach house in Malibu in 1991, which he reportedly still owns. It’s unclear whether the home is still standing.

Page Six reached out to reps for both Tom and Wilson for comment.

The Palisades Fire erupted Tuesday morning, followed by the Eaton and Hurst fires that evening, per NBC News. The region of Acton became engulfed in flames Wednesday morning and the Hollywood Hills caught fire near Runyon Canyon on Wednesday night.

One thousand homes and businesses burned in the Palisades Fire, as well as hundreds in the Eaton Fire. Approximately 180,000 people were under evacuation as of Thursday due to the fires, though the Hollywood Hills evacuation order has since been lifted.

Five deaths have been confirmed so far.
