Travis Kelce: ‘It’s a great honor’ that President Trump will attend Super Bowl 2025

Travis Kelce will welcome President Trump with open arms on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end addressed the commander-in-chief’s plans to attend the big game during a press conference Wednesday.

“That’s awesome. It’s a great honor,” he told a pool of reporters.

“I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool.”

Travis Kelce was asked at a press conference ahead of Super Bowl Sunday how he feels about President Trump attending the big game.
“That’s awesome. It’s a great honor,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said in response Thursday.

The Post confirmed Tuesday that Trump, 78, will become the first sitting president to go to a Super Bowl.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem are expected to join the POTUS at the game, according to sources.

Kelce, 35, and his Chiefs teammates, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles during Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

The tight end’s positive reaction to Trump attending the annual sporting event echoes the neutral stance he has publicly taken in politics.

In June 2024, Kelce told his brother, Jason Kelce, on their “New Heights” podcast that it is “always an honor” to go to the White House after winning a Super Bowl no matter who the president is at that time.

“Anytime I get a chance to be recognized by the president of the United States and get to go with my teammates and a group of men and women that I had success with to the point we get acknowledged … I’m doing it every time no matter who’s up there at the helm,” he said in the episode.

“No matter what’s going on in this world, it’s just such a cool opportunity.”

Former President Joe Biden invited Travis and the Chiefs to the White House last May after they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas in Super Bowl LVIII.

The NFL stars were seen posing with Biden, 82, while holding up a football jersey, and the then-president even gave Travis the mic during a press conference to say a few words.

“My fellow Americans …,” the Super Bowl champ joked at the time. “I’m going to be honest, President Biden, they told me I’d get tased if I came up here, so I’m going back to my spot.”

A few months later, leading up to the 2024 presidential election, Travis continued to keep his political beliefs close to the vest and did not publicly endorse Trump or Kamala Harris.

He was spotted going to the polls in Kansas City, Mo., to cast his ballot that November.

Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift, on the other hand, made it known that she was voting for the former vice president.

The pop superstar, 35, announced via Instagram in September 2024, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
