Tyler Cameron reflected on catching a lot of heat for publicly posting screenshots of his text fight with girlfriend Tate Maddenon Instagram.
“I got crushed for that,” the “Bachelorette” alum, 31, exclusively told Page Six at the Celsius Padel Classic at Wayne Boich’s Miami padel club during Art Basel on Friday.
Cameron admitted that he “thought it was funny” to share the awkward exchange with his 2.2 million Instagram followers — only to find that Madden was not at all pleased.
“So I paid the price for it, learned my lesson,” he said. “Some jokes should be kept inside.”
As Page Six reported last month, Cameron shared a screengrab of a text conversation in which Madden scolded him for getting ice cream without her.
“Now you’re mad again?” he asked her in the text chain, to which she replied, “I just don’t understand why anything fun you do you don’t want to do with me. We’ll go to riverside. Have a fun night.”
He reacted by firing back, “We’re getting ice cream, are you kidding me?This is a fun moment?”
The reality star then wrote over the post, “Don’t go on a sweet treat run without your girlfriend … lesson learned.”
Fans immediately called Cameron out for airing their dirty laundry — which he was clearly in the dog house for as he shared a photo the next morning of himself sleeping on the couch.
When asked on Friday how he made it up to her, Cameron told us, “Lots of ways. Lots of ice cream trips.”
The “Going Home with Tyler Cameron” host admitted that he isn’t one to hold back on sharing his personal life online.
“I like to have fun. I like to put it out there. I don’t care,” he said.
However, the heartthrob did admit that having all eyes on his dating life isn’t always easy — especially when he and Madden hadn’t publicly confirmed their relationship.
“[Tate] told me it was hard when the whole world doesn’t know what we are but we know what we are,” he said. “Then we came out [as a couple] so now it’s like, we feel much better about it.”
Cameron noted he has had several relationships that “the whole world has seen,” referencing competing for Hannah Brown’s heart on Season 15 of “The Bachelorette” as well as briefly dating Gigi Hadid.
However, he said it was nice for him to date Madden without any cameras around. The couple dated privately for more than a year before confirming they were an item in October.
“It’s great to be out and be together,” the TV star told us. “I think the main key part of it, was like, we wanted to really build a foundation. I think you can’t really have a strong relationship without a foundation.”
Cameron does, however, believe that people can find love on the ABC dating show franchise.
“I think the show can be genuine because you’re kind of going through something very foreign to each other so it kind of makes you bond even more,” he said.
Cameron said that “being able to maintain” your love once the show ends is the tricky part.
