What the Princess of Wales said after being told ‘William is the luckiest man in the world to have’ her

The Princess of Wales had a comment to relay to her husband Prince William. While marking Holocaust Memorial Day on Monday, Her Royal Highness met with Holocaust survivors, including Robert George Berkowitz, who according to HELLO!, told Catherine: “William is the luckiest man in the world to have you!”

The Princess is said to have giggled and replied, “I will tell him that!”

Catherine reportedly made a “last-minute” decision to join Prince William at the service commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. At the event, the Princess said “it’s good to be able to be here.” The Prince of Wales also remarked that they were “glad” to be there, noting, “It’s important to be here.”

Her Royal Highness reunited on Monday with Yvonne Bernstein and Steven Frank, two Holocaust survivors whom she photographed in 2020 for a project marking 75 years since the end of the Holocaust. Per HELLO!, Yvonne thanked Catherine for coming. “It was such a treat for me to come and see an old friend,” the Princess of Wales said.

The poignant event in London was the Prince and Princess of Wales’ first joint public appearance of the year. Catherine undertook her first public engagement of 2025 on Jan. 14, visiting the Royal Marsden Hospital, which is where she received chemotherapy treatment last year. The royal mom of three, who began a course of preventative chemotherapy in late February 2024, announced back in September that she had completed her treatment. Following her visit to the hospital earlier this month, the Princess revealed that she is in remission.

“I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year,” Catherine wrote in a personal message after the solo engagement. “My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”

“In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer,” the Princess continued. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support. C.”
