Becoming a Fishing Show Host Started Me on the Path to Sharing the Court with MJ

Forward The 41-year-old Jared Jeffries had a successful eleven-year NBA career before making his way onto American television.

At Indiana, Jeffries shone so brightly that he was recognized as the conference’s top player and freshmen of the year in 2001 and 2001, respectively.

The Washingtоn Wizards used the eleventh chоice in that year’s draft оn him because оf his success in cоllege.

During what would turn out to be Jordan’s final season, he played beside the great man himself as a rookie.

Jeffries recalled his former teammate by saying, “He was always the first guy in the gym,” on the 2019 episode of FS1’s Fair Game. And with his unwavering commitment, he did an incredible job that year of sort of leading and guiding all of us.

“As a 40-year-old player, he would get his knees worked on before the games and you could tell that he was on his last leg, but he still had two 40-point games that year, he’s the only guy in the NBA to this day to score 40 at 40 years old.”

One of Jordan’s 40-point games that season was played in a shoe that Jeffries owns.

After seeing limited action in his first season, Jeffries was given more responsibility in 2003.

After fоur years in Washingtоn, he played fоr six years with the New Yоrk Knicks (split intо twо stints by a single seasоn with the Hоustоn Rоckets in 2010–2011).

Before retiring in 2013, he played for the Portland Trail Blazers for a single season.

The Denver Nuggets hired Jeffries as a scout, and he rose through the ranks to become the team’s director of player personnel.

After that, he became President of Echo Fox and entered the eSports industry.

Meanwhile, Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries ran on the Outdoor Channel for five seasons between 2013 and 2018.

Later that year (2023), he fulfilled a “life long dream” by appearing on The Price Is Right and walking away with a Toyota Corolla, which he proudly tweeted about.
